Marcus Sir's Uniform Cheatsheet (:

Hey Guys, this is Xin Jie here. This my first post here so yeah (:

Seeing that neither Aloysius or I have been procrastinating, I shall post it for you guys (: Please pass on this message as Marcus Sir wants all of us to know all this by the next training. On with the tips.

Beret:

  • Air it once you go home as it will stink
  • Put it under parent's bed (advised unless you can find a heavier object) for about 2 weeks until there is a distinct line
  • Must have strong backing so that NPCC crest will not move (Purpose of backing)
  • Backing must be waterproof; distance between backing and crest minimised

Shirt:

  • Buttons must NOT face wrong way (Marcus Sir says he will slaughter anyone commits this mistake so be careful!)
  • Iron line of collar must be in line with formation sign (in line with the left face)
  • Shirt must not cover more than half of belt

Pants:

  • Iron Line start from belt loop
  • Must meet as V-shape at the back
  • Alter pants so that the pants are not long enough to be seen past the top two loops of your shoe
  • Tip here, iron the line (forgot the word here, pardon me, I'll try to explain) individually. Gah, wrong word, essentially it means to "break up" the ironing process for the iron lines, so that you do it bit by bit. This ensures that the lines are distinct, and there is only one line, which is the next point.
  • Must have only one line, as having more than one will lead to something like some of our twine in campcraft; it starts off as one line then breaks off into many.
  • Bring belt buckle, two fingers from the end of the belt

Boots:

  • Basically, just hardcore polish. (Seriously, that's what he said)
  • Polish Toe Cap, then back, then rest of the shoe.

Okay, so that's it (: Any queries, can sms me or post on tag board. Don't know my number, ask around or check communications list :D

PS: Aloysius, edit this post if I missed out anything =P

PSS: I took someone's beret home on POP. Please SMS me and tell me whether you want me to season for you if you lost yours xD

backing no ned waterproof.. but I dun wan cloth as backing, it's practically useless..

"Iron line of collar must be in line with the formation sign" its the iron line of the sleeves.

I will clarify more next time, when I see you guys.
In the meantime, work hard for your EOYEs! jy everyone. =D

  2. 1 very very glaring mistake I mus clarify, if not I will see everyone with 3 quarter pants the next training.
"Alter pants so that the pants are not long enough to to be seen past the top two loops of your shoe."

The correct one: Alter pants so that the pants is not SHORT enough to reveal more than two BOTTOM loops of your boots.

My advise is: if anyone is not clear, please do not make any changes to your uniform yet.
